This wild bird feeder is truly squirrel proof.  The weight of a squirrel pulls the lower portion of the feeder downward, covering the seed ports so that it is impossible for the squirrel to get any seeds out of the feeder. It must be placed so that a squirrel cannot pull the feeder to itself , but must actually get on the feeder. Make sure there is at least an 18" reach in order to prevent the squirrel from reaching out and touching the feeder. The spring is adjustable so that the user can adjust it so loosely that even larger nuisance birds such as Grackles will be too heavy and their weight will move the lower portion of the feeder downward to cover the seed ports.
